Dinosaur Comics

Can I tell you how much I enjoy the surrealist, random, and odd humor of Dinosaur comics? Well I do. I hope you'll enjoy them too.

Little Grey Book Lectures

If you enjoyed John Hodgman's book The Areas of My Expertise, you might enjoy the Little Grey Book Lectures:
"Like 'The Little Blue Book' instructional pamphlets of the 20th century that inspired them, the Lectures are amusing, brief, accessible, enlightening, disposable to some, collectible to others, and always theme-specific." (source) You can also listen to excerpts.

Stout-Hearted Men

You who have dreams,

If you act, they will come true.

To turn your dream to a fact

It's up to you.

If you have the soul and the spirit,

Never fear it, you'll see it through.

Hearts can inspire other hearts with their fire,

For the strong obey when a strong man

Shows them the way.

: Give me some men who are stout-hearted men

Who will fight for the right they adore.

Start me with ten, who are stout-hearted men

And I'll soon give you ten thousand more.

Oh! Shoulder to shoulder and bolder and bolder

They grow as they go to the fore!

Then there's nothing in the world can halt or mar a plan,

When stout-hearted men can stick together man to man! :

The Gallery of Notorius Knits

Stichy McYarnpants provides for us some truly offensive knitting photos, with commentary. Please note, this is unrelated to Tree Sweaters, and the Museum of Scientifically Accurate Fabric Brain Art. You might want to stay away from the Beutiful (sic) art made with knitting also.

The Gallery of Regrettable Food

Humorous articles satirizing cookbooks and food ads from the '30s through the '60s, including Meat! Meat! Meat! and The Unbearable Sadness of Vegetables.

Sheep River Provincial Park

I drove out to Sheep River Provincial Park yesterday, just past Turner Valley. So much snow, but so beautiful. There were sheep everywhere, owls in the trees, hawks and falcons overhead, and a flock of Snow Geese flying low over the road. Here are some photos.
